GOOD STUFF: 3.10.17
It’s Friday! How are y’all feeling?
Friday afternoons are usually when I pour myself a cup of tea, start tying up loose ends, map out a plan for next week and tidy up things around my studio. Not today.
Today the game plan is a little different – I still have a ton of work to get done so I am pouring a cup of tea, taking a break to write a quick post and tackling another few hours of work.
MONDAY MOTIVATION: 3.6.17
It’s Monday! As I flipped through my planner to organize my week, the date “3/9” jumped out at me.
This week Thursday will mark the 20th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.’s death. Twenty years ago I was in Milwaukee in my childhood bedroom – it was just after Sunday School and I was hanging up my church clothes – when I heard the news on the radio. He’d been shot in L.A.
GOOD STUFF: 3.3.17
I didn’t go to Mardi Gras, but I still had a pretty wild and crazy week. It wasn’t a “beads & booze” variety of crazy…it was more of the “deadlines & technical glitches” type of crazy. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. Besides, having a hectic week just makes the weekend feel even more enjoyable.
ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE: BLACK PANTHERS AT 50
As soon as I heard that the Oakland Museum of California was honoring the 50th anniversary of the Black Panther Party, I knew that I had to see it. The exhibition, All Power to the People: Black Panthers at 50, was on display from October 2016 through February 2017.
I toured the exhibition a few weeks ago and was inspired by the Black Panther Party’s strength, vulnerability, passion and pride.
