MARDI GRAS INDIANS
Laissez les bons temps rouler…it’s Mardi Gras!
I’ve been to New Orleans once. It was a quick trip to zoom through all the tourist spots just to say I “did it”. That experience made me want to go back, slow down and “do” New Orleans the right way. I am determined to get back there sometime soon.
Amongst the mysterious energy, delicious food and slow-as-molasses-drawls, a colorful poster caught my eye while I was in New Orleans. It was a poster with some of the most vibrant and beautifully intricate costumes I’ve ever seen and a caption that read “Mardi Gras Indians”.
MONDAY MOTIVATION: 2.27.17
It’s Monday!
This morning I am inspired by the gray space that exists between “being compensated” and “being challenged” as a creative professional. I’ll explain. As a designer, I’m commissioned to do the type of work that I’ve already done successfully. It sounds good in theory, but the problem is that it doesn’t create a lot of opportunity for growth.
GOOD STUFF: 2.24.17
It’s Friday! How are y’all feeling?
That “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” saying pretty much sums up my week. I’ve also heard it stated as “when life gives you lemons; add tequila”. Since it’s Friday, I may do the latter instead of the former.

Have you ever seen one of those impossibly chic and deceptively simple fashion sketches?
