Here are a few reasons you may want to splurge for a few sprigs:
REDUCE STRESS
Several studies have been conducted that show indoor plants can reduce stress levels in work spaces. In addition to reductions in blood pressure and an improved ability to focus, here a few more benefits from a study conducted in 2010:
- 37% reduction in tension and anxiety
- 58% reduction in depression
- 44% reduction in anger/hostility
- 38% reduction in fatigue
INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
Plants reduce excess levels of carbon dioxide in the air which helps concentration. Research shows that in environments where plants are present employees make fewer mistakes and complete tasks faster.
LOOK GOOD
Plants make any space look good, especially when they are in cute planters like these.
IMPROVE HEALTH
Having plants around is also beneficial for your health. Not only do plants reduce carbon dioxide levels, reduce dust levels and toxins created by plastics, paint, furniture and carpeting. As an added bonus, plants can also reduce dry skin!
LOW MAINTENANCE
Not everyone has a green thumb ( I know I don’t). On top of that, fluorescent lighting, fluctuating temperatures and other variables may make it difficult to care for plants in a work environment. The good news is that there are some types of plants that are surprisingly low maintenance. After a bit of research these are the plants I found to be the most ride or die plants.
