It’s been a busy week. I started two new client projects and “accidentally” ended up re-organizing my whole studio. I’ll explain.
While hunting for an old sketchbook I ran across a few tools and supplies that are way too pretty to be packed away. I decided to shift things around so that my work space is literally decorated with things that are beautiful and inspirational. I have a bad habit of buying cool stuff and packing it away for safe keeping. Now I am making a conscious effort to integrate things that inspire me into my everyday workflow. This gorgeous hand painted sketchbook by A’Driane Nieves and these cool colored pencils put a smile on my face every time I see them.
I doodle often, mostly when I am procrastinating. Recently most of my doodles have been of doe-eyed divas. I never knew procrastination could be this pretty. I have a few ideas for fleshing out some of my doodles, but for now I will just keep sketching and see where it leads.
My first issue of CRWN magazine came this week and I am blown away! It’s full of gorgeous photos, insightful articles and creative layouts. The publication aims “to be the most beautiful and honest representation of Black women in the history of print”. So far they are on the right track.
This was my first week switching up my beauty routine for fall. I traded in nude glosses and golden bronzers for vampy lipsticks and berry blushes. I can’t wait to rock more of these fun shades from MAC this season.
My curls also need a little extra care during the drier Fall and Winter months. I’ve heard great things about Uncle Funky’s Daughter and I’m excited about taking these new products for a test drive.
Those are a few quick highlights from my week! What’s good with you?
