GOOD STUFF: SEPTEMBER 23, 2016

It’s Friday! How are y’all feeling?

My week has been super busy…and super productive. When I have hectic weeks like this everything flows better when I start the day off focusing and reading in my meditation corner. I recently added this dreamy drawing by Brittany “Zola” of Zola Arts Factory to my “zen space”, and I love how it blends with the chill vibe.

Beginning my day with clarity and focus has been an essential in tackling some major projects lately. Revamping Scotchbonnet!, my line of handmade accessories, is one of the projects I’ve been working on recently. I freshened up the logo & branding, redesigned the website and made some new jewelry pieces to add to the collection. It’s been amazing to nourish my jewelry making “hobby” into a full-fledged business. I’ll be sharing more details about Scotchbonnet! in the upcoming weeks.

Something else I will be doing in the upcoming weeks is Watching Project Runway. Love. this. show. Can we talk about Season 15 for a minute? It’s still early in the season, but there are already a few cast members that stand out from the others. I am really digging Tasha Hendersen. Her design aesthetic, her laid back demeanor and her sweet Shreveport drawl are everything. I also have to show Linda Marcus some love since she’s from my hometown of Milwaukee. Laurence Basse is pretty amazing too! She’s a Parisian trained designer who looks like Naomi Campbell’s and Grace Jones’s lovechild. Last, but not least, I can’t forget about Tim Gunn. His brutally honest, but well intended, quips are legendary. This is going to be a good season!
